Sammamish Lutheran Church offers programming to children
from birth through fifth grade. Each of our
programs are designed to build up children's faith and
relationship with God, to connect children and families
into relationship with one another, and to offer
opportunities of service to our local community.
Children's Ministry Mission:
We believe that parents
are the primary role models for their children’s
upbringing in the Christian faith. Our mission is to
support parents in this endeavor by giving them the
tools and encouragement they need to raise children in
the Christian Faith.
What happens on Sunday morning is only 1/8 of your
children’s faith formation and education. This continues
every day in every home as parents lead their children
in the Faith 5. Here are some tips on how to make this
happen at each age level.

Worship Bags!
We have created
Worship Bags for children to use during worship
services. The bags include books, children’s
Bibles, children’s bulletins, activity sheets,
and crayons. If your child is staying with you
during worship, please have them pick up one of
these bags in the Narthex (lobby)! They are
divided into three age groups: Toddlers,
Preschool-Kindergarten, and first through fifth
grade. If you would like to help maintain these
worship bags please contact Karen Harmon (karen@shlc.org).
Sunday School:
We are using
the curriculum from Faith Inkubators again this
year. This year our studies take us through the
books of Joshua through Job. Registration forms
are available on the church website, in the
church office and in the Narthex. Our Sunday
School program is for children age three years
through fifth grade. It is never too late to
join us!

Volunteer Opportunities:
Our Sunday School and Children’s Ministry
programs are possible because of the helping
hands of many volunteers. As a parent, we ask
for your participation in our program. We
welcome any interested volunteers, even if you
don’t have kids in the program, to help.
Assisting with Sunday school will not only help
you teach your children the value and importance
of learning and applying the scriptures, but is
also a wonderful blessing to others. Contact
Karen Harmon (karen@shlc.org) to volunteer!
