"Praise
the Lord! Sing to the LORD a new song!
Praise him in the assembly of the godly!" - Psalm 149:1
Team members:
Marlene Knie, (mknie@comcast.net),
Peggy Drissel, Pauline Schweizer and Kathy Stenbakken
The Altar Team
provides all the preparation and follow up for communion
during the worship services. Communion is served at
nearly every worship service at SHLC. With the addition
of new worship opportunities, new Altar Team members are
needed to assist. Communion will always be central to
our faith and worship life.
It is the gift of
Jesus Christ himself. It is a blessing for members of
the Altar Team to help bring that gift to each member
and friend of our congregation. The Altar Team is more
consistent than exciting, but always open to new ideas.
Communion Bread
Coordinator: Kristine Meyer, (kvsid@yahoo.com)
Our 15 volunteers
bake communion bread for all regular services and
special occasion services such as Christmas Eve and
Easter. We make sure we have bread for each Sunday
service, keep the bread bakers we have baking and try to
recruit new bakers.
People are
surprised at how easy it is to make and bake the bread.
It really is something that anyone can do! Please sign
up on the bulletin board in the Narthex and join our
team.
The Liturgical
Arts team is responsible for the seasonal banners that
decorate the Sanctuary and the Narthex. The group starts
with a general idea. Each person takes that idea and
comes up with several specific designs. The whole group
meets and we combine ideas into a final draft. We then
find suitable materials for the project and get together
to construct it. In addition, we have made stoles and
chausibles for the pastors. Please consider if you have
a passion for creativity in this area. Please call Linda
Hines, Volunteer Ministries Coordinator, to volunteer

The Sanctuary
Choir is a wonderful outlet for singing and leadership
each Sunday as it continues to sing faithfully for the
liturgical service at 8:30 am. Additionally, the choir
is a great way to have weekly fellowship as we prepare
anthems for the worship service. |
