Church Nursery Attendant

Informal Worship Coordinator
Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church is looking for a new Informal Worship Coordinator. This is a part-time position. As the key leader for the 10:30 a.m. worship service and other contemporary worship services that may be offered from time to time, the Worship Coordinator is responsible for:
*Leadership of the 10:30 a.m. worship service three Sundays each month. This leadership may be solo or leading with a worship team of other musicians.
*Recruiting, training, and ongoing leadership of the AV and worship teams.
*Support and leadership of the leaders of the worship teams which lead on the Worship Coordinator’s “off” Sundays. This includes assisting them in recruiting, training, and leading their teams.
MUSICIANSHIP. As the “front person” on a regular basis, the Worship Coordinator must be a musician in his/her own right, including:
*Demonstrating advanced skill in singing, leading others in singing, and coaching worship team members in their singing skills.
*Demonstrating advanced mastery of a musical instrument relevant to contemporary worship (e.g. piano, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, etc.)
*Understanding, respecting, and being comfortable with a broad range of liturgical musical styles and expressions.
*Possessing a background in music theory, direction, and the interplay of various instruments, voices, and artistic modes, which is crucial for the respect of the musicians who will be supervised by this position.
ADMINISTRATION. As key administrator and coordinator for the 10:30 a.m. service, the Worship Coordinator:
*Provides for efficient and accurate communications between the various 10:30 a.m. worship teams on song lists, worship backgrounds, equipment usage, etc.
*Develops and maintains accurate and timely schedules for the worship teams, AV teams, and other teams that may arise in the course of his/her work.
*Provides all necessary information to the administrative assistant for the timely and accurate reporting for all worship related licenses.
*Serves as the key leader between the 10:30 a.m. worship service and the rest of the staff.
TECHNICIAN. The Worship Coordinator is responsible for the use of the AV system, to include:
*Serving as the technical expert and point person for questions and concerns.
*Performing ongoing maintenance and upgrades, to be coordinated with the business administrator.
DISCIPLER OF DISCIPLES, the Worship Coordinator is expected to:
*Exhibit a mature faith and type of conduct befitting a leader in Christ’s Church.
*Disciple volunteers within the worship teams.
*Encourage all those around them toward maturity in Christ.
*At the request of the Lead Pastor, facilitates and leads the involvement of informal worship team members in special or seasonal services.
*Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
*Attends staff meetings and other leadership functions as schedule allows.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The Worship Coordinator needs to possess a demonstrable understanding of the scriptural and doctrinal background of the Lutheran church at worship, as well as training in liturgical and non-liturgical worship styles and structure.
Two years prior related experience.
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in church music, religious studies, and/or music.

Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church (SHLC) is looking for that special person to join the office team! The successful candidate will be able to work well with 8 staff members, greet people with joy and also be able to focus on the necessary details required by the job. Each day brings a good deal of variety for someone who enjoys being challenged by a varied work day. The 8 staff members work well together with positive communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate team member.
- Meet and greet members and visitors.
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Maintain the church website and coordinate, prepare and print the weekly bulletins and monthly newsletter. Also coordinates its mailing to parishioners.
- Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
- Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
- Receives, sorts, and delivers incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Copier: Primary contact for copier repair (requests & schedules service), sets up new users and manages passwords, orders supplies, and troubleshooting.
- Creates, develops and disseminates e-mail blasts using the Constant Contact on-line.
- Creates and develops pamphlets, posters, and banners to support the ministries of Formation, Worship, and Care.
- Creates and develops the annual report of the congregation in concert with staff and lay leaders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Office Volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is needed to be effective in this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college preferred. Three years prior secretarial, administrative, or clerical experience highly desired.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work effectively with church staff, lay leaders, disciples, and the general public.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as segments of the bible, worship book and/or various publications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with members and visitors. A knowledge of the Lutheran church or another liturgically based church is highly desirable.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be proficient in MS Office Applications including, but not limited to: Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint. Also must be proficient in Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and Photoshop CS5. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn the use of a Konica C654 photocopier.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
